5 Attributes of Eminent life coach

What comes to your mind when you hear "coaching"? In today's world, there are many coaches from different fields who have achieved innovation in their field. the word "coach" is misused by many professionals nowadays. Also, there are many professions usually get confused by the word "coach" such as therapists, consultants, mentors. These professions are different than coaching. Coaching consists of thought-provoking techniques, active involvement, and truthfulness. The therapists mostly work on past experiences and try to fix what is broken. A consultant provides ideas/ answers for critical questions and mentors help people to follow their path. Coaches are more than that. They help you to find your answer by yourself only. They focus on asking questions rather than telling you what to do or what not to do. Here, I am going to share some secrets to become a successful coach.

There are 5 attributes of being an eminent life coach. These 5 qualities will help you to achieve your goal within a permissible amount of time.

1. Discerning listener :-

In today's scenario, people are more prone to technology. We become social on social networking sites but don't know what is going on in each other's life. We have already on the edge of losing emotional bonding, empathetic communication with family & friends, and helping someone without any judgment. A few months back, my youngest cousin committed suicide by hanging himself. Everyone was in a big dilemma as to why he should do that. Everything was going well in his life. He was attending lectures, going for outings and suddenly everything falls on the ground. The point here is we are becoming slaves to technologies and not paying attention to the people around us.

Every human being under the sun wants someone to listen to them without passing any kind of judgment. A life coach must attain this quality to connect with their client firmly.

2. Questioner  :-

This quality shows curiosity and interest to solve the problem. Most of the time client has his/her solutions in their brain but not willing to take any step forward because of deep-seated fear in their minds. Coaches help them to find the answer by using appropriate tools and systems. A successful coach tends to ask more questions and not much in telling. He/ She never assume what the client is saying they are prone to ask perspicacious questions.

A great coach helps people to take ownership of their life.

3. Professional Standards and Ethics:-

A coach knows how to carry himself/herself on a social belief platform. Professional ethics and values will vary from person to person but one should take care of those things. A coach should follow the boundary line, society protocols, and respect every human being. there is a list of ethical principles one must govern:- Honesty, truthfulness, trustworthy, Accountability, etc.

Always remember one thing "Action speaks louder than words".

4. Being Passionate:-

One must be passionate about what he/ she is doing. The word itself represent being highly devotional to the subject you like most. Their goals are more clear than any average person. They are willing to take any kind of risk. There is one advantage of being passionate is people become more optimistic about life. Everything in this life has two sides. there are some disadvantages to becoming passionate if sometimes things get worse and situations fall to get worsen. However, passionate people live happier and lead a better life.

A great coach must be passionate about his/her mission & vision.

5. Self-awareness:-

Once you are aware of yourself or actually where you stand it becomes easy to lead other people on a similar path with you. Self-awareness is nothing but the ability to the introspection of your thoughts. Practicing self-awareness makes you more proactive & helps to boost your confidence. Self-awareness is part of emotional intelligence.

A successful coach must be self-aware and well accumulative with his/her content. Once you are aware of your thought process you can easily help clients to achieve their higher selves.
